Job Summary

Lead modernization efforts by serving as the primary liaison between VFMP business stakeholders and delivery teams across intake, applications, claims, appeals, duty to assist, care coordination, benefits coordination, pharmacy, and nursing review operations. Facilitate business requirement gathering sessions, publishing meeting notes within three business days and storing them in the project Document Repository. Develop business rules for front-end data extraction from intake systems and downstream ingestion to drive automation and efficiency. Lead development of Business/Workforce Optimization Plans and provide project management support for the Data Integration Project, including creating the Project Management Plan and coordinating data engineers and analysts. Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements, process flows, and use cases. Monitor delivery within scope, schedule, and budget, identifying risks to support monthly status reports and quarterly progress updates. This contingent role supports the Veteran and Family Member Program at the Department of Veterans Affairs with remote work anticipated, though occasional travel for client engagements may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience managing projects or leading business delivery for a large corporation or government agency, preferably in a healthcare organization
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar in quality
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating stakeholder requirements sessions and developing business requirements, business rules, and process documentation
  • Experience supporting data, automation, or systems modernization initiatives, preferably involving claims, eligibility, or healthcare operations
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government
  • Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
