Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and delivery of Power BI and analytics solutions, including new dashboard builds, enhancements, and defect resolution. Develop and maintain robust, scalable semantic data models and advanced DAX measures to support consistent, self-service analytics across business units. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business objectives into actionable insights while defining and enforcing BI development standards and governance practices. Own version control and deployment workflows using GitHub and CI/CD pipelines, and provide Tier 2/3 support to resolve issues and enhance analytics adoption. Mentor BI Analysts and explore new tools to drive continuous platform evolution. Based in Edmonton or Calgary, AB, this role requires 5+ years of experience with Power BI, DAX, and SQL.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data-focused roles
- Advanced experience with Power BI or similar data visualization and reporting tools
- Advanced expertise in semantic data modeling, DAX, and Power Query (M)
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational data structures
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Azure Synapse, or similar lakehouse/warehouse solutions
- Proficiency with GitHub, version control, and CI/CD workflows for analytics deployment
- Strong understanding of BI governance, deployment standards, and analytics best practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and manage complex deliverables
- A collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- This position can be based in Edmonton or Calgary, AB
