Job Summary
Develop and implement a comprehensive BI strategy to evolve reporting from basic dashboards into a sophisticated analytics framework. Lead the implementation of Looker as the core BI tool, adding operational data to the data warehouse and building tailored executive dashboards for key business teams. Establish self-service reporting capabilities to reduce dependency on IT, while defining governance, role-based access controls, and standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate business requirements into actionable insights, train users on best practices, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Prior experience implementing a BI platform from the ground up
- Experience working with business teams to translate business requirements into consumable analytics and dashboards
- Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable BI solutions
- Expertise with BI tools
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written & listening) with the ability to train, guide, and partner with non-technical business users
- Strong knowledge of analytics, data modeling, and governance best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Experience in working with complex data or documents, carefully examining details, and verifying information for completeness or correctness
- Experience in coordinating and managing complex projects, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient resources to complete a project on time
- Adaptable in response to changing priorities, unexpected challenges, and evolving business needs
- Ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and address issues, minimizing potential delays or disruptions
- Skill to effectively communicate verbally with others, both in-person and via electronic devices
- Capability to lift 15 pounds periodically
- Close vision for computer-related activities
- Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations
- Able to navigate and access all facilities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with business teams to translate business requirements into consumable analytics and dashboards
- Prior experience implementing a BI platform from the ground up - ideally in a retail or multi-unit business environment
- Expertise with BI tools (Looker preferred, but experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools is also valuable)
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (Snowflake experience is a strong plus)
