Job Summary
Design and maintain data structures, schemas, and views for chemistry patents and reaction data while optimizing databases for high-performance retrieval. Transform representations and implement stored procedures to support complex use cases, ensuring real-time access for researchers and stakeholders. Act as an active member of the agile team, collaborating with developers and product owners to drive timely deliveries and continuously improve storage organization. This role supports the Reaxys platform, a deep-tech data search tool trusted by pharma and research hubs globally, within an agile team spanning Frankfurt, Bengaluru, and Amsterdam.
Required Qualifications
- Expert level experience in Data Engineering or Business Intelligence
- Expert (5 years) as a Data Engineer or Business Intelligence Expert
- Strong background in relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL and/or Oracle, and their optimization
- Minimum medium level scripting experience in Bash, Perl, or Python
- Experience in version control tools, like Git
- Experience in AI supported development/working
- Fluent English oral and written communication skills
- The ability and passion to work in a diverse team
- A bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in computer science, or life sciences with a strong background in IT
