Job Summary
Business Intelligence Engineer responsible for architecting and managing BI platforms (Looker, QuickSight, Power BI) to deliver data-driven insights. You will design and implement complex platform architectures, develop data models and ETL workflows, automate admin functions via APIs, configure security and SSO (OAuth, SAML), and lead CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. Responsibilities include integrating BI tools with Git repositories, ensuring platform governance and resiliency, and building enterprise-level BI metrics and self-service capabilities for users. The role requires extensive experience across BI tooling, scripting, data modeling (Kimball), multiple databases, and collaboration with IT, security, and business teams. Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship are essential, with on-call production support and availability for on-site/hybrid work in Chennai.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of related BI experience
- Experience administering BI platforms (Looker, Amazon QuickSight)
- Experience with Python, Shell and PowerShell scripting
- Experience with building automation and integrating APIs
- Experience with security/configuration (AD/Azure AD, Ping Federation, OAuth, SAML SSO)
- Experience defining SDLC and CI/CD processes using Jenkins
- Experience integrating Looker/Quicksight with code repositories and BI governance
- Experience with data modeling (Kimball method) and ETL development
- Experience with multiple databases (Snowflake, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
- Experience with BI tooling integration (Splunk, Collibra, ServiceNow)
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Mentoring others for knowledge transfer
- Ability to lead complex projects
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
