Job Summary
As a Business Intelligence & Data Specialist for ABB in Canada, you’ll prioritize data quality and management to enable data-driven decisions. You will collect, clean, and analyze large datasets using SQL to ensure accuracy across BI systems, develop ad-hoc and automated reports, design interactive dashboards, maintain comprehensive BI documentation, and manage access controls to meet compliance. You’ll serve as the front-line BI issue resolver, collaborate with IT and vendors, support emergency resolutions, and contribute to governance and data security. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of BI experience, with strong SQL skills, experience with Tableau/Power BI, and bilingual French-English.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with multiple BI platforms and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation
- Bilingual French-English; English is necessary to communicate with clients outside Quebec
- Strong knowledge of database management systems, data governance frameworks, and compliance principles
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in data environments
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Customer service orientation with proven ability to support end users and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to urgent issues, and collaborate effectively with IT teams
