Job Summary
The Business Information Security Officer (BISO) will serve as the primary liaison between the security function and divisional profit centers and corporate teams, reporting to the CSO. responsibilities include shaping security programs aligned with corporate policies, standards, and frameworks; guiding divisional investments in security; allocating security resources across architecture, engineering, operations, and risk management; supporting merger and acquisition due diligence and 90-day security integration; advising divisional leaders on risk and compliance; monitoring security trends; ensuring remediation and regulatory compliance for data privacy across divisions; overseeing IT certification and audits; and educating stakeholders to strengthen security culture. The role requires extensive information and physical security expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate security risk into business terms. Preferred certifications include CISSP or CISM, with a BA/BS in a related field and 8–10+ years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in business, security, or technology
- 8–10+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, risk management, governance, physical security, or regulatory compliance
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of ISO27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials and other security standards
- Experience running a SOC and handling cyber incidents
- Strong understanding of organizational environments and their connection to external business drivers
- Ability to translate risk discussions into business-focused terms
- CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications (preferred)
