Job Summary
Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status, then work with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies. Draft and prepare letters and legal documents based on established precedents, conduct research to support client requests, and supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation. Proactively communicate with clients within SLAs, partner with colleagues to resolve issues, and act as a source of advice and training to junior colleagues. Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. JD or LLM required
- Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association
- 0-2 years of experience at Associate level
- An academic understanding of immigration law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines
- Dedication to exceptional client service
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
- Ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Valid driver's license
