Job Summary
Drive business development by closing partnerships with external companies, securing new suppliers, and designing investment schemes. Lead market research, competitor analysis, and customer solution proposals to enhance the marketplace's KPIs and convenience. Manage cross-functional projects with internal teams across development, design, and legal to execute strategic initiatives from 0 to 1. Collaborate on diverse ventures including logistics, cross-border trade, and Mercari Shops to foster value circulation. Operate in a startup-speed environment with millions of users, balancing macro vision with micro execution to drive growth and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Japanese language ability
- Proficient (CEFR – C1) Japanese

- Experience in startup (mega-venture) and large enterprises
- Experience in business alliance planning and negotiation in medium to large enterprises (IT-related acceptable)
- Large-scale project management experience
- Business to native level English capability
- EC domain business development/business development experience
- Experience in industries other than IT/web (e.g., payment/logistics/finance)
