Job Summary
Business Development Specialist for IPG's protective packaging product lines. Acts as the market and application expert, pursuing new business opportunities with end users and distributors within the assigned territory, coordinating with Territory Managers and the Director of Sales to achieve revenue and net CM goals. Responsibilities include prospecting key end users, supporting distributor sales Reps, guiding end-user opportunities through the sales cycle to close, coordinating with distribution partners for service, training Distributor Sales Reps on product features and applications, providing guidance in client meetings regarding implementation and best practices, and serving as a field feedback loop for product development. Essential skills include deep product knowledge, strong communication, ability to train others, travel readiness, and a hunter mentality. Qualifications require a BA/BS, 4-7 years in business development or sales (industrial/packaging preferred), proficiency with Microsoft Office, meticulous attention to detail, and a customer-service oriented mindset. The role emphasizes independent work and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with travel as a necessary component.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS Degree required from accredited university or college
- 4-7 years business development or sales experience in a related field (prefer industrial or packaging sales)
- Must have a hunter mentality and competitive drive
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a positive customer service mindset – team player
- Must be able to travel by air or vehicle independently
