Job Summary
Develop and manage strategic business development for current and prospect Halperns' accounts in the Great Lakes region; conduct product knowledge trainings for the GFS sales teams, identify opportunities and risks, and initiate account strategies to build loyalty and satisfaction. Proactively prospect and penetrate accounts not purchasing the Specialty products; consult with customers on new items and menu ideas to generate additional profit, study markets to determine product mix and market share, maintain customer relationships, coordinate with Halperns and GFS sales teams for referrals, and track weekly sales, losses, and operational substitutions. Collaborate on pricing deviations with the Halperns division General Manager, ensure timely order fulfillment with cut shop/warehouse teams, and create and implement new items while supporting a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple projects and tight deadlines. Additionally, demonstrate strategic thinking to build relationships, network, and translate market data into actionable business plans; essential skills include data interpretation, presentation abilities, and strong communication.
Required Qualifications
- Meat and/or Seafood industry experience required
- Must have industry and segment knowledge
- Must have ability to multitask and work independently
- Broadline sales experience preferred
- Ability to analyze data and develop new business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capability to prepare and deliver presentations to customers
