Business Development & Research Intern - Nairobi based

Job Summary
Design and scope new sustainable finance proposals and bid responses across clean energy, transport, and climate-aligned public finance. Research funding opportunities, donor priorities, and institutional landscapes to produce high-quality research memoranda and analytical briefs for senior leaders. Develop proposal narratives, theories of change, and strategic frameworks while creating presentations for partnership discussions and client engagement. Manage BD pipelines and track business development activity across geographies and funding windows. This internship spans up to six months, starting late August 2026, with a full-time remote setup required for candidates based in Nairobi.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be based in Nairobi
- Candidates must have access to a home office setup that supports full-time remote work
- Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills
- Proficiency in English is required
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- A recent graduate
- Ideally with a background in Sustainable Finance, Climate Change, or International Development

- Highly motivated with a desire to learn and develop professional competencies
- Able to work independently ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and satisfy deadlines set
- Proficient when it comes to managing timelines
- Team player willing to adapt to new challenges in a fast entrepreneurial environment
- Desirable skills include research and presentation building
- Experience or demonstrated capability in research and presentation building
- Mastery of a second language is highly desirable
