Business Development Representative

Job Summary
Senior Business Development Representative responsible for high-quality outbound prospecting and discovery to shape and advance complex enterprise opportunities in Japan. You will turn product usage, pilots, and inbound demand into qualified pipeline, partner with Account Directors on account strategy, map stakeholders, and provide local market feedback to HQ. This role offers exposure to enterprise sales, product, and customer strategy, with opportunities to develop skills in AI-enabled GTM workflows (GPTs/Agents) and to grow into broader GTM leadership. Native Japanese with business proficiency in English is required; prior success in B2B SaaS or startup sales, and a track record of building pipeline through outbound and inbound qualification, are highly valued.
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native Japanese language proficiency with strong business communication skills
- Business-level English
- Strong track record in B2B SaaS, technology sales development, startup sales, or similar GTM roles
- Proven ability to generate pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound qualification
- Strong discovery skills, follow-up discipline, and stakeholder mapping ability
- Comfortable speaking with technical buyers such as Product, Engineering, IT, Data, or Security stakeholders
- High ownership, strong judgment, and comfort operating in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment
- 7-10 years total work experience (preferred)
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in SDR/BDR/inside sales or similar GTM roles (preferred)
- Experience selling into regulated or complex industries (Financial Services, Life Sciences, Retail) (preferred)
- Experience selling API, developer tools, cloud, data, security, or other technical products (preferred)
- Experience with AI tools and translating OpenAI products into business value (preferred)
- Ability to build trust quickly with customers and act as a bridge between Japan market needs and HQ (preferred)
