Job Summary
Identify and develop relationships within strategically targeted manufacturing accounts by conducting account research, contact development, and buying center mapping. Execute outbound prospecting activities including calls, emails, networking, and customer visits to uncover growth opportunities for Capital Account Managers. Analyze market data, UCC filings, and industry reports to generate qualified leads while collaborating with sales leadership and product specialists on account development strategies. Engage with trade associations and industry groups to identify emerging opportunities and maintain accurate records within CRM platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or a related role
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, machine tools, automation, or technical sales environments a plus
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport quickly over the phone and in person
- Organized, proactive, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable using CRM systems, prospecting platforms, and market intelligence tools
- Technical curiosity and aptitude to learn manufacturing technologies and applications
- Data-driven thinker with a collaborative, resilient, and customer-focused mindset
- Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises
- Ability to concentrate and remain focused while prioritizing multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects
- Ability to sit for prolonged period of times
- Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavyweight material up to 50 lbs. with assistance from equipment or other employees
- Ability to frequently use hands and arms
- Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment
- Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas
- Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work
- Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
