Job Summary
Qualify and convert warm inbound leads, marketing qualified leads, and prospect for new business opportunities by conducting exploratory calls with merchant prospects. Proactively reach out to prospective merchants via cold-calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach to build a pipeline. Document and track qualified opportunities, then schedule meetings and calls between merchants and Account Executives to ensure a warm handover. Research market gaps to construct detailed lead lists targeting specific growth areas. Optimize outreach sequences, playbooks, and qualification criteria to exceed performance targets. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SME, technology, and competitor trends relevant to Australian merchants. This role supports Zeller's mission to reimagine business banking and payments for SMEs.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in one (or more) of the following roles: Sales Development Representative; Business Development Representative; Customer Success Representative or Product / Onboarding Specialist
- Hands-on experience with multiple prospecting techniques (including cold calls and outreach)
- Track record of achieving sales-performance or activity-based goals
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Hubspot, Salesforce)
- Excellent written, verbal, conversational and listening skills
- Proficient and demonstrable experience in prospecting, identifying target customers, evaluating buyer interest, recognising decision-making processes and qualifying customers
- Strong interpersonal skills and a highly collaborative work style
- General expectation of 4 days on-site per week
- Option of 1 day WFH
Desired Qualifications
- Background in customer-facing roles, either as a Customer Success specialist, Customer Support representative, or in face-to-face sales in a retail or consultative-selling environment
