Job Summary
Business Development Officer at Penn Community Bank focusing on local commercial lending and deposit growth. Develop and expand local C&I business relationships, generate new prospect opportunities via external calling and networking, partner with COIs (CPAs, lawyers, CRE brokers) and multiple lines of business to deepen banking relationships, onboard new customers, and grow lending, depository, cash management, wealth management, and merchant services. Collaborate with commercial bankers and retail offices to implement a sales strategy, ensure compliance with regulations and bank policies, and participate in training. Requires travel to meet with customers and community partners; hybrid work arrangement with office and remote work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- Minimum 5 years’ business development experience, preferably in financial services
- Proven abilities in direct sourcing and prospecting of new clients
- Strong knowledge of business banking and underwriting concepts
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Salesforce
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure to meet requirements and deadlines
- Willingness to travel for outside sales calls and client meetings
- Driving license and reliable transportation
- Experience collaborating with commercial bankers and retail offices to develop a sales culture
- Experience working with COIs such as CPAs, lawyers, and CRE brokers to develop new business
