Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for expanding the independent pharmacy customer base through new business development, onboarding new accounts, and fostering long-term partnerships with pharmacy owners. Key responsibilities include prospecting, conducting outreach, presenting service solutions, negotiating contracts to meet customer needs, and exceeding revenue targets. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree, over 5 years of experience in healthcare sales, strong consultative selling abilities, and excellent organizational skills. Experience with CRM tools, particularly Salesforce, is also necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent healthcare or business experience
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical wholesaler, pharmacy, or healthcare sales experience
- Proven success in outbound sales and business development
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with independent or small-chain pharmacies preferred
- Strong knowledge of independent community pharmacy operations
- CRM experience (Salesforce or similar)
- Self-motivated with strong organization and territory management skills
