Job Summary
Develop business in the travel industry within the upstate New York territory by selling group travel and affinity-group programs, with experience in European River Cruises and small-ship adventures. The role involves autonomous prospecting, collaborating with an inside support team, traveling to meet clients, and representing the company at trade and consumer shows. Key duties include strengthening relationships with key accounts, achieving growth targets, utilizing marketing collateral for placement in agencies, identifying new opportunities, creating sales plans and call plans, and managing time/workflow with flexibility for evenings/weekends. Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and strong communication skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must reside in upstate New York
- Minimum 5+ years in the travel industry, in a Sales role
- Experience with Tour Operators, selling group travel
- Strengthen relationships and drive growth with key accounts
- Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
- Experience with trade and consumer shows/events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Tech savvy with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar)
- Ability to develop detailed sales/marketing plans and call plans
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and travel extensively in the territory
