Job Summary
Senior Business Development Manager responsible for developing new client relationships in IT, Engineering, Scientific, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, and related STEM sectors; manage a defined territory and drive revenue through technical staffing and recruiting solutions including contract staffing, contract-to-hire, direct placement, and project services. Build relationships with hiring managers, talent acquisition leaders, executives, procurement, and other stakeholders; conduct discovery calls to understand client hiring challenges, workforce needs, project timelines, and talent gaps. Partner with recruiting to ensure client requirements are understood and delivered with speed and quality; negotiate agreements, pricing, terms, and service expectations while protecting margin and long-term value. Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, forecasting, and account information; stay current on market trends and opportunities within the territory; represent STEM DTS with professionalism and urgency.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of successful business development experience selling technical recruiting, staffing, or workforce solutions.
- Experience selling into technical areas such as IT, Engineering, Scientific, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or related STEM disciplines.
- Strong territory management skills, including prospecting, pipeline development, account planning, and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical decision-makers.
- Comfortable with cold outreach, networking, referrals, social selling, and creative business development strategies.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- A competitive mindset, high integrity, and the ability to manage activity without being micromanaged.
- Experience working in a remote sales environment is a plus.
