Job Summary
Business Development Manager in San Jose, CA responsible for new business development within an assigned geographic territory and for managing the sales activities to increase sales. Responsibilities include direct selling strategy on key opportunities, building relationships with key customer decision makers, delivering customized product presentations, collaborating with global engineering and sales teams, preparing reports, and maintaining distributor relations. Requires BS/technical degree, 5+ years sales experience (electronic components/interconnect preferred), strong communication and presentation skills, ability to travel up to 40%, and proficiency with Salesforce.com and MS Office. Travel to distributor branches and multiple customer R&D locations is expected.
Required Qualifications
- BS/A degree in Business or Technical field required
- Five + years sales experience
- Five + years sales experience in the electronic component industry required
- Interconnect experience is a plus
- Must possess technical knowledge to be able to fully comprehend the customer’s requirements and provide the appropriate HRS product solution
- Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Organizational skills must be above average
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in order to work with both external and internal customers
- Excellent presentation skills including creating PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to resolve issues and escalate in a timely fashion and to the customer’s needs
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Salesforce.com
- Self-motivated & positive attitude with great energy
- Must be able to travel up to 40% of time to distributor branches and the multiple customer’s R&D locations
- Existing distributor relationships is a plus
