Business Development Manager: Retail

Job Summary
Develop and drive the organization’s marketing, sales and promotion of products and services in designated market segments; accountable for the direction and management of marketing, sales and promotion efforts. Lead the design, development and execution of strategies, market research, product planning and advertising to attain sales and profit objectives. Direct education, training, presentations and proposals related to core business; collaborate with responsible business units to develop business plans and strategies; support education and training initiatives for advisers, and manage adviser engagement and segmentation. Oversee strategic ownership of retail distribution platforms and growth of the retail franchise, including governance-aligned distribution discipline and market intelligence. Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Product, Marketing and Operations to deliver solution-driven outcomes and enhance client experience.
Required Qualifications
- A relevant Honours Degree with 6 to 8 years financial and or investment experience with at least 3 years at supervisory/management level
- Corporate/Business relationship management experience
- Asset management experience beneficial
- Retail experience beneficial
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong technical skills
- Excellent networking skills
- Computer literacy
- Highly motivated and self-starter
- Well organized and dynamic
- Ability to work independently
- Strong understanding of retail adviser business models and client segmentation
- Experience working with Portfolio Managers, Product, Marketing and Operations in a solution-driven environment
- Experience in developing or positioning bespoke investment or portfolio solutions for advisers or clients
- Advanced communication, presentation and stakeholder influence skills
- High level of commercial judgement and strategic thinking capability
- Ability to operate independently at senior management interaction level
