Job Summary
Develop new business opportunities with K-12 school districts and charter schools throughout the San Diego area while building relationships with Superintendents, Business Officials, and Child Nutrition Directors. Manage a consultative sales process from prospecting through contract execution, re-engage former customers, and maintain an active pipeline to achieve revenue goals. Partner with internal teams to develop customized meal solutions for breakfast, lunch, and supper programs, representing the company at industry conferences and trade shows. This field-based role requires reliable transportation for regular travel and offers a base salary of $90,000–$110,000 plus incentive bonuses. Candidates must have at least five years of experience selling into the K-12 education market, preferably with foodservice broker background.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Experience working for a foodservice broker serving the K-12 market
- Required experience selling into the K-12 education market
- Demonstrated, measurable sales success within the K-12 school nutrition or foodservice industry
- Proven ability to build executive-level customer relationships and navigate complex district purchasing processes
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills with a history of consistently achieving or exceeding sales goals
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote, field-based environment
- Regular travel throughout the assigned territory is required
- Reliable transportation is required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with vended meal programs is a strong plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred
