Business Development Manager - Infrastructure

Job Summary
Manage existing pipeline of large lighting infrastructure projects and develop new opportunities in tunnels, transportation infrastructure, airports, rail, and ports. Proactively identify design-build and modernization opportunities while building relationships with state DOTs, engineering consultants, contractors, and distributors. Leverage technical knowledge to drive specification of lighting solutions and control systems, partnering with global resources to ensure flawless project execution. Collaborate with the Global Business Segment Manager to evolve go-to-market strategy, define digital marketing initiatives, and create revenue forecast mechanisms. Maintain visibility in the industry through speaking engagements and ensure business activities align with sustainability and Buy America requirements. Frequent travel (30%-50%) is required.
Required Qualifications
- Frequent travel required (30%-50%) both domestic and international
- Tangible relationships with engineering community and DOTs are critical
- Existing DOT relationships and/or relationships with the engineering consulting community are REQUIRED
- Prior outdoor lighting industry experience (minimum of 5 years) or similar experience selling technology to DOT's and transportation authorities
- 10+ years of relevant leadership experience in technical sales and/or business development in projects with long and complex sales cycles
- Exceptional business planning skills that can be demonstrated through the interview process
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or technical discipline (electrical engineering) is strongly preferred
- Membership in industry committees would be a definite plus
