Business Development Manager
$95,000–$105,000 year
HybridBurnaby, British Columbia, Canada
Job Summary
Build and manage a pipeline of national and regional partnership opportunities by researching target industries, companies, and decision-makers. Conduct proactive outreach through calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, and industry events to develop relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and service providers. Lead commercial discussions to negotiate pricing, rebates, sponsorships, and co-marketing programs while coordinating internally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations. Maintain disciplined CRM records, follow-up schedules, and performance reporting to drive franchisee adoption of partnership initiatives. Represent Ideal Siding professionally at partner meetings and trade shows across Canada and the United States. This high-autonomy role requires originating opportunities rather than relying on inbound leads, with success measured by signed agreements and measurable revenue outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, B2B sales, vendor relations, national accounts, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to originate opportunities rather than rely only on inbound leads or an established book of business
- Strong research, prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, and follow-up skills
- Comfort engaging senior executives and navigating complex organizations
- Commercial judgment: naturally asks how an opportunity creates revenue, savings, leads, or scalable value
- Independent, organized, persistent, curious, coachable, and accountable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Disciplined use of CRM tools and pipeline management practices
- Ability to travel within Canada and the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Vancouver-area hybrid work is preferred; remote work within Canada may be considered
- Experience in construction, home services, franchising, building materials, restoration, or distribution
- Existing manufacturer, supplier, or service-provider relationships
- Experience with rebate, referral, sponsorship, co-marketing, or preferred-vendor programs
- Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools
