Job Summary
Business Development Manager for GMP Gene Editing and GMP Biologics Manufacturing. Drive revenue growth by selling GMP-grade nucleic acid reagents (e.g., sgRNA, ssODNs, long ssDNA, dsDNA HDR templates, andcustom endonucleases) and GMP peptide/protein manufacturing services to cell therapy, gene therapy, vaccines, and biologics R&D programs. Build and execute a territory sales plan, manage the full sales lifecycle (lead generation, discovery, scoping, proposal creation, negotiation, and closing), and maintain pipeline visibility using CRM systems. Serve as a technical resource across GMP manufacturing capabilities, translating complex concepts for R&D, technical, and CMC stakeholders. Collaborate with Marketing, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D to ensure seamless customer onboarding and project execution. Attend conferences and on-site meetings with 25% or more travel. Remote-based position in the United States with travel; target customers include biotech and pharma organizations working on gene editing, vaccines, and biologics development.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field is required
- 3+ years of business development or sales experience in CDMO/CRO services within gene editing, biologics manufacturing, or adjacent markets
- Demonstrated success in consultative technical selling and achieving revenue targets
- In depth familiarity with global GMP regulatory systems such as FDA and EMA guidelines
- Strong understanding of CRISPR workflows, HDR template design, and/or biologics development
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to independently manage a dynamic pipeline within a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce/Dynamics, and virtual communication platforms
- Highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading scientific and commercial discussions
