Job Summary
Business Development Manager for data centers focused on driving IPS Power Management growth. Lead data center go-to-market plans, identify and pursue new opportunities, coordinate cross-functional strategy, lead proposals with technical guidance on end-to-end power management solutions (switchgear LV/MV/HV, transformers, UPS, generators, and related field services), and represent IPS at industry events to build brand and generate opportunities. Responsible for analyzing RFQs, developing accurate technical and commercial responses, monitoring competitor activity and market shifts, collaborating with engineering/operations/product teams, and following up on wins/losses to refine the value proposition. Requires a strong track record in high-value B2B sales within power management or electrical infrastructure, data center market knowledge, CRM proficiency, and the ability to travel 50–60% while working from a home office. Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent; advanced degree preferred. Travel-driven, customer-focused, strategic thinker with integrity and entrepreneurial spirit. Responsibilities include leading go-to-market, networking at industry events, generating prospects through cold outreach and lead programs, and delivering tailored solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in the Power Management industry with at least 7 years of direct sales experience
- Experience in Power Management or electrical infrastructure sales
- Data center market experience (hyperscalers, colocation, enterprise and edge deployments)
- Proven success in consultative sales and new business development
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies in mission-critical or industrial infrastructure space
- Proficiency with CRM tools to manage pipeline and align teams
- Ability to work autonomously from a home office with high travel demands (50–60%)
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Knowledge of competitors, pricing strategies, and market trends in power management
- Experience with proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract formulation
