Job Summary

Business Development Manager for Data Center mechanical solutions drives strategic growth in a mission-critical environment. Focuses on expanding market share by engaging Data Center End Users, Colocation Providers, Hyperscale, and Enterprise facilities with energy-efficient cooling and mechanical solutions. Responsibilities include developing annual BD plans, direct sales, opportunity qualification, coordinating with engineering and design-build firms, managing full lifecycle sales from opportunity tracking to contract execution, site surveys, proposals, and customer presentations (in-person and via Teams). Maintains CRM records, analyzes market intelligence, and represents the company at industry events. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5-10+ years in data center sales/business development, an established network within hyperscale/enterprise data centers, experience selling infrastructure and energy-efficiency products, familiarity with project lifecycle sales, ability to navigate long sales cycles, collaboration with engineers and facilities executives, design-spec capabilities, CRM proficiency (Salesforce or equivalent), strong communication/presentation skills, active involvement in industry organizations, and willingness to travel near a major airport.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or construction management (a plus)
  • 5-10+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management within the Data Center Industry
  • Focusing on Commercial HVAC Cooling / Mechanical Systems and Solutions
  • Established network within the Hyperscale, Colocation, and Enterprise Data Center sectors, with strong industry relationships a MUST
  • Experience selling infrastructure solutions, energy efficiency products, cooling towers, chillers, or heat exchangers
  • Strong knowledge of project lifecycle sales (FPLC)
  • Ability to navigate complex sales cycles ranging from 6 to 18 months
  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and facilities executives to influence purchasing decisions
  • Engineering skills in writing and developing design specifications a huge plus
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Active member of professional organizations such as 7x24 Exchange, ASHRAE, DCD, Uptime Institute, Bisnow, AFCOM, and iMasons
  • Ability to travel as needed (near a major airport)
