Job Summary
ChemFinity Technologies seeks a Business Development Manager to build and lead our commercial and business development efforts from the ground up, reporting directly to the CEO and senior technical team. You will identify and engage prospective customers and partners across target markets (metal recyclers, refiners, mining operators, metal traders, government and community officials, and chemical processors), qualify opportunities, advance relationships toward pilots, LOIs, contracts, and partnerships, and develop CRM-based progress tracking. You will create marketing and commercial materials (pitch decks, social posts, technical summaries, newsletters), provide market research and competitive analysis to leadership, support fundraising and investor materials, pursue non-dilutive opportunities (government programs, pilot funding), and assist in day-to-day operations (invoicing, HR needs, stocktaking). This is a builder role with significant autonomy and ownership, requiring you to establish repeatable processes and documentation. A Bachelor's degree (MBA a plus) and 3–7+ years in business development or related commercial roles are expected, along with a proven ability to develop a startup-scale commercial pipeline, strong communication skills, and a pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering, chemistry, business, or a related field (MBA is a plus)
- 3–7 years (or more) of experience in business development, technical sales, consulting, or a closely related commercial role
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage a commercial pipeline from scratch
- Scrappy and resourceful mindset with a strong sense of ownership and eagerness to tackle tasks as a solo contributor
- Excellent attentiveness to detail and ensuring high accuracy of documents
- High trustworthiness and ability to carefully handle confidential information across stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, including speaking and writing across assorted audiences
