Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (Bulk) will drive new account acquisition in industrial and healthcare markets for bulk and cylinder gases, managing end-to-end sales, from prospecting to final Product Sales Agreements. Build and maintain consultative relationships, map stakeholder needs to Airgas solutions, optimize pricing and delivery fees, and advance opportunities through a structured sales pipeline. Maintain a high-frequency cadence for pipeline velocity, coordinate with Airgas specialists as needed, and utilize CRM to report forecasts and territory performance. Requires strong outside B2B sales experience, a strategic, market-aware approach, and frequent regional travel to cultivate new accounts and achieve ROI targets.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years outside B2B industrial gas and/or bulk gas sales experience with a history of new-customer acquisition
- Demonstrated success in consultative/solution selling within a defined territory
- Demonstrated history of achieving and advancing sales goals
- Skilled at leading customer conversations, linking client priorities to company solutions
- Strong commercial and industry awareness; applies market and customer insights to sales strategy
- Reliable personal transportation, a valid driver's license, and state-required minimum liability insurance
- Understanding of customer buying processes and data-driven decision making
- Proficient with PC productivity software (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office); comfortable learning order-entry systems
- Frequent regional travel required (up to 75% of time); occasional overnight travel
- Maintains confidentiality of financial, sales, and strategic information
- Commitment to continuous learning through training and industry resources
