Job Summary
Develop and execute business development strategies to expand client relationships with public agencies, developers, utilities, and industrial clients across Southern California. Lead capture planning, pursuit strategies, and proposal development for complex environmental consulting opportunities while representing the firm at industry conferences and networking events. Manage multidisciplinary environmental projects from proposal through completion, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and profitability. Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers and technical staff to build a high-performing team. This senior leadership role balances business growth with technical excellence, requiring 15+ years of progressive environmental consulting experience. Compensation ranges from $145,000 to $200,000 USD.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Planning, or a related technical discipline
- 15 or more years of progressive environmental consulting experience
- Demonstrated success developing and growing client relationships that generate repeat business
- Proven ability to lead major pursuits and win complex environmental consulting projects
- Experience managing multidisciplinary environmental projects from proposal through completion
- Strong understanding of Southern California regulatory agencies, permitting requirements, and environmental compliance
- Experience leading and mentoring technical professionals
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship building skills
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other relevant professional registration
- Established relationships with Southern California public agencies, municipalities, transportation agencies, developers, utilities, ports, energy companies, industrial clients, or commercial clients
- Experience supporting one or more of the following service areas: Site Assessment and Remediation, Environmental Compliance, Due Diligence, Water Resources, Industrial Hygiene, Hazardous Building Materials, Environmental Engineering, Brownfield Redevelopment, Sustainability and ESG
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams across multiple offices
- Experience developing annual business plans, growth strategies, and key account plans
