Job Summary
Develop and maintain customer relationships, respond to incoming customer inquiries, and generate quotes using the RK Supply database. Maximize gross margin through the quote process and identify opportunities to grow market share by expanding sales and nurturing existing customers. Provide product pricing, delivery specifications, and payment terms, offering substitutes when appropriate. Assist outside sales and/or branch management with priority transactions, process orders and maintain accurate customer files. Work with internal departments to maintain customer information, ensure quality standards, and communicate technical information. Participate in meetings and training to enhance product knowledge. Monitor ship dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed. Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries regarding material, sales function, and warehouse issues. Take reasonable care for safety and health and report hazards. Travel as required and be on call as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; additional post-secondary training or education
- Two+ years in customer service, inside sales and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibility; leadership/supervisory experience
- Demonstrated competence in computers and software
- Ability to communicate and transfer knowledge effectively
- Ability to present information one-on-one and in small groups
- Willingness and ability to be on call 24 hours to serve customers
- Willingness and ability to travel within and outside branch service area, with occasional overnight stays
- Valid driver’s license with ability to meet RK Supply vehicle policy
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently to communicate and understand safety instructions
- Ability to understand and comply with RK Supply guidelines including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest
