Business Development Director – Air Force Programs

Job Summary
Own all business development and capture activities for Air Force programs, from initial opportunity identification through contract award. Develop comprehensive capture plans aligned with customer priorities and execute win strategies including price-to-win analysis and teaming decisions. Serve as the primary interface with Air Force stakeholders, building trusted relationships and facilitating regular touchpoints to maintain situational awareness. Shape operational and technical requirements by engaging early with requirements officials and monitoring documentation like RFIs and draft RFPs. Coordinate with engineering and program teams to validate solution alignment and flag risks early. Maintain a long-range view of the procurement roadmap to position the company for future options and follow-ons.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in defense Business Development, Capture Management, or Program Management with demonstrated success in the U.S. Air Force market
- Demonstrated understanding of USAF acquisition processes and the Department of War POM processes
- Proven ability to own and drive a full capture lifecycle from opportunity identification through proposal submission
- Active DoW Secret security clearance
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships with senior government personnel
- Prior military service, particularly within Air Force operational or acquisition communities
- Experience with Electronic Warfare, Weapons Systems, or Munitions programs aligned to Air Force mission areas
- Familiarity with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) and Armament Directorate (EB) organizations
- Graduate of the United States Air Force Weapons School
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government–issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
