Job Summary
Business Development, Capture & Proposals Manager in Huntsville, AL leads DoD/IC growth through capture strategy, opportunity qualification, and end-to-end proposal leadership. Responsibilities include developing capture plans, engaging customers, managing proposal content and compliance, coordinating with SMEs and partners, and ensuring timely delivery of proposals for complex solicitations (IDIDs, task orders, sole-source). Requires building relationships with government customers, prime contractors, and strategic teammates; translating radar, EW, SIGINT, missile defense, and advanced sensor concepts into compelling proposals; and leading color reviews and proposal production. Strong background in government contracting, RFIs/RFPs, FAR/DFARS, and a history of writing technical proposals, executive summaries, staffing plans, and capability narratives. Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint, with excellent communication and detail orientation for high-visibility bids.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, English, or a related field
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Minimum 10 years of experience in government contracting, DoD business development, program management, or a related field
- Demonstrated track record identifying and capturing new DoD or IC program business
- Demonstrated experience leading and writing technical proposals for DoD and/or Intelligence Community customers
- Experience supporting radar, electronic warfare, SIGINT, missile defense, intelligence, or advanced sensor programs
- Experience reading, interpreting, and responding to government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, sources sought)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and SharePoint
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including formal presentations to customers and senior leadership
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple efforts under stringent deadlines
