Job Summary
Business Development Analyst to support Magnetar's investor relations and fundraising efforts from Evanston or New York offices. Responsibilities include creating and updating marketing materials (presentations, tear sheets, and DDQs), preparing investor meeting materials, supporting roadshows and fundraising campaigns, coordinating investor due diligence meetings, handling follow-up items and investor questionnaires, servicing existing investors, leveraging AI and data tools to generate market insights, and driving efficiency across IRBD processes through automation. Requires an undergraduate finance/economics degree, 1-3 years in financial services (preferably in alternatives or asset management), strong communication and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a proactive, collaborative, self-starting mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Economics
- 1-3 years of total work experience in the financial services industry (preferably in alternatives, asset management, or related)
- Exposure to working with institutional clients and investors a plus
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Intellectually curious and willing to experiment with emerging technology and apply new tools
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, maturity, and self-confidence
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and identifies problems to build solutions
- Strong sense of ownership, obligation, and personal accountability
- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
