Job Summary
The Business Development Associate for Energy Storage will support energy storage project design, financial analysis, proposal generation, and management of partners throughout project development and contracting. Key responsibilities include analyzing customer utility bills, sizing energy storage projects, creating customer proposals, and compiling project documentation for financial incentives. Candidates should have a background in electric/power markets with strong communication skills and a BA/BS in a relevant field. Additional experience with DER modeling tools and knowledge of energy markets are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS required (finance or engineering degree preferred)
- 3-5 years in electric/power markets or a related field
- Highly effective verbal and written communicator
- Legally eligible to work in the United States for an extended period without requiring employment visa sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with DER modeling tools like Energy Toolbase, HomerGrid, HomerPro, Geli, or similar
- Experience and understanding of U.S. wholesale and retail energy and capacity markets
- Experience with utility and retail electric bill structures and components
- Familiarity with grid services value streams (capacity markets, ancillary services, utility programs, etc.)
- Comprehension of energy storage and/or distributed/renewable energy assets and their operation
- Familiarity with battery energy storage project financial models
