Business Data Steward Manager

Job Summary
Manage business critical processes by defining and validating critical data elements (CDEs) and overseeing enterprise-wide coordination of Data Domain activities. Onboard CDEs and business metadata, define Data Quality rules and controls, and maintain the Business Glossary while supporting Data Quality Issue Management. Prepare data sharing agreements and delineate data limitations, restrictions, and dissemination rules. Define data privacy rules aligned with the Enterprise Privacy Policy and establish archiving, retention, and destruction requirements for CDEs. Monitor data security, track privacy issues, and enable corporate strategy application for all data consumers. Collaborate with Technical Data Stewards, the Metadata Center of Excellence, and the Data Domain Working Group to execute change requests and perform traceability mapping.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience managing business processes or experience in technical-related decisions on the business side
- Ability to translate enterprise strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions
- Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services
- Significant knowledge of current and emerging application software products and tools
- Extensive project management experience to include multi-million dollar projects completed on time, within budget and delivering quality results
- Strong analytical and architectural skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of internal client relationships
- Knowledge of all phases of software engineering life cycle and experience with process improvement models
- Language Fluency: English (Required)
- In accordance with Truist in-office expectation, this role will be in office 5 days/week
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in business analytics, computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a financial institution with a focus on financial crimes prevention
- Extensive knowledge of Data and Analytics including emerging trends
- Strong understanding of banking operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Project management experience and proficiency in managing budgets
- Familiarity with machine learning, data analytics, and artificial intelligence in financial institutions
- Banking or financial services experience, especially in a particular niche area
