Business Contract Legal Counsel

Job Summary
Draft, review, and negotiate client, supplier, and service-provider contracts related to IP services. Conduct preliminary legal research on applicable laws, identify risks, and support the preparation of internal guidance notes. Assist in implementing internal legal processes, including the digitalization of contracts and updates to workflows. Collaborate with commercial, operational, and local legal teams worldwide to collect information, support contract execution, and ensure smooth communication with external partners. Monitor legal developments, professional standards, and regulatory changes that may impact the business, preparing summaries and impact assessments. This role is based in Paris or Sophia-Antipolis (hybrid) within Questel's Group Legal Department.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Law
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a contracts counsel, business legal counsel or legal counsel within a legal department, IP law firm or service-oriented legal environment
- Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably involving intellectual property services
- Fluency in English and French (oral, written)
- Ability to prepare, review, and organize legal documents and contracts under supervision
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills with attention to detail
- Excellent document management and reporting abilities
- Good understanding of contract lifecycle processes and legal documentation workflows
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities

Desired Qualifications
- preferably in commercial/business law, contract law, or intellectual property law
- Previous experience in a multinational company and/or international service-oriented environment
- Good understanding of contract law, intellectual property law and interest in IT-related legal topics
- proficiency in other languages
- Holding an IELTS or TOEFL certification
