Job Summary
Responsible for managing a portfolio of delinquent loans within the commercial banking space, including interaction with customers via phone and email, and collaboration with Relationship Managers and branch teams to determine loss-mmitigation strategies. Duties include handling past-due Commercial loans, Mortgages, Leases, Lines of Credit, and Credit Cards; initiating contact with customers and guarantors to assess repayment prospects; recommending transfer to Workout/Special Assets; documentation of loan relationships; skip tracing as required; and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. Strong emphasis on phone-based engagement, cross-functional collaboration, accuracy in documentation, and staying informed on market trends affecting portfolio performance.
Required Qualifications
- Combined 3 years’ higher education and/or work experience with a minimum of 1 year collection experience or customer services/sales experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (education preferred)
- Two years’ collection experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of Commercial, Revolving Credit or Overdraft products (preferred)
- Exposure to financial statements, analysis, and collateral valuation (preferred)
- Knowledge of M&T Bank systems (preferred)
