Job Summary
Develop and analyze credit information for small business lending transactions, including historical and current financials, proformas, annual status reviews, and property inspections. Objectively evaluate business and personal financial statements to assess credit risk, industry trends, collateral, and debt servicing ability. Communicate findings in written form and interact with clients to clarify data or obtain updated financial information. Accompany lenders on customer calls to discuss loan requests and update files. Maintain financial statement tickler files and contact customers regarding missing documents. Assist with internal and external audits and compliance requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of commercial underwriting/analysis
- 2+ years of experience in a credit analyst role
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to creatively analyze various situations and data
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
Desired Qualifications
- College degree with a focus on finance, accounting, or equivalent experience
- Proven academic or work experience in financial analysis
- Proficient Word and Excel skills
- Proficient in financial report writing and report maintenance
- Experience with underwriting loans under the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loan guarantee programs
