Business Area manager (Nursing)

Job Summary

Manage a remote team of Field Nurses within an assigned geographical territory, driving KPI targets for clinic and nursing operations including budget and expense controls. Monitor demand for services to ensure adequate resource availability, maintain excellence through clinic audits and on-site visits, and manage growth opportunities including site identification. Achieve operational service targets, review staff training reports for compliance, and collaborate with scheduling associates for efficient appointment management. Cover emergency excursions, sick calls, and clinical questions as necessary, while establishing and maintaining customer relationships with patients, manufacturers, and KOL partners. Interview and manage onboarding for new staff, oversee performance management and quarterly reviews, and analyze processes to achieve utilization targets. Ensure all nurses meet Provincial College of Nurses standards and certification requirements, report adverse events per Innomar policies, and coordinate clinic visits and tours. Travel throughout the assigned territory for management meetings and audits.

Required Qualifications

  • BScN/equivalent or working towards the degree
  • Registration with the College of Nurses in the province of employment
  • CVAA certification
  • BCLS/CPR
  • ACLS
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of management experience or working with a remote team or related experience in managing and guiding people
  • Experience in nurse training & education
  • Experience working with the biotechnical/pharmaceutical industry
  • Availability and willingness to travel as per business need
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Programs
  • Bilingualism French/English
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Excellent clinical skills as a nurse including IV initiation, physical assessment, autonomy
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Proficient presentation skills
  • Hold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license
  • Ensure that the nurses within their IBU are working under the Provincial College of Nurses' and or Associations standards of practice are maintained
  • Ensure that all nurses are certified based on the requirements of a RN or RPN/LPN
  • Collaboration with Scheduling Associates to ensure efficient appointment scheduling
  • Responsible for being available to cover any emergency excursions, sick/emergency calls and or clinical questions
  • Communicates and implements all program and departmental policies and protocols at the IBU level
  • Report adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures
  • Establishes and maintains excellent customer relationships (patients, manufacturers etc.) within assigned territory
  • Interview and manage the onboarding and orientation of new staff
  • Ongoing performance management for all direct reports
  • Ensuring quarterly reviews on nursing staff within the IBU
  • Analyzes, plans and implements process improvements to achieve utilization and efficiency targets
  • Ensures program (internal/external) requirements are met as it pertains to processes and applicable documentation
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement and compliance with monthly, quarterly and annually auditing as it pertains to OCC/QA standards

Desired Qualifications

  • CVAA certification an asset
  • BCLS/CPR required and ACLS (optional/as required)
  • Experience in nurse training & education
  • Experience working with the biotechnical/pharmaceutical industry an asset
  • Bilingualism French/English an asset
