Job Summary
Teach business and information technology courses in a laboratory-classroom setting, covering business management, accounting, office administration, web technologies, and business law. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards while instructing students in software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and multimedia tools. Assess student learning, monitor progress, and prepare reports and evaluations to ensure career-ready technical skills. Maintain classroom discipline, manage instructional materials and equipment inventory, and provide safety instruction for computer and office technology use.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Education or a related field with appropriate coursework
- Eligible for or currently holding a Virginia Department of Education teaching license with appropriate endorsement
- Knowledge of business education, accounting, business law, management, finance, economics, and office administration
- Proficiency with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and web technologies
- Strong classroom management, communication, and instructional skills
- Ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction
- Ability to evaluate student performance and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs
- Knowledge of Career and Technical Education (CTE) curriculum and industry standards
