Job Summary
Support the EHR program by collaborating with clinical staff and IT leaders to translate clinician requirements into coordinated specifications for the EHR solution. Define Health IT requirements for clinical disciplines, analyze clinical processes and workflows, and contribute to project implementation, systems design, development, testing, and ongoing maintenance. Ensure compliance with VITA project management standards while implementing downtime readiness procedures and internal reporting on system response time and service level agreements. This role involves working within the Health IT Unit to ensure computer applications assist DOC in achieving its day-to-day mission. The position requires a choice of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays for work from home.
Required Qualifications
- Experience within a Clinical/Health/Bio-Tech environment
- Familiarity with HL7 and its family of standards including Version 2 (V2), Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) and Fast Healthcare interoperability Resources (FHIR)
- Ability to translate clinician requirements into coordinated specifications for the EHR solution
- Ability to define Health IT requirements for clinical disciplines as they relate to the strategic plan and unit mission
- Ability to provide business analysis on clinical processes, workflows and related artifacts
- Ability to contribute to project/program implementation, infrastructure, system architecture, planning, project initiation, business analysis, requirement definition, systems design, systems development, system testing, systems implementation, on-going maintenance and enhancement, effective problem identification and resolution, production service and support, and systems administration support tasks
- Ability to implement downtime readiness procedures and internal reporting regarding system response time and service level agreements for connectivity and operational effectiveness of Health IT
- Ability to ensure compliance with the VITA project management standards and procedures for development, enhancement, and deployment of applications developed or procured by Health IT/ITU
