Job Summary

Internship focusing on supporting the Business Advisor team to assist small businesses in NYC. Responsibilities include outreach across NYC, translation/interpretation Spanish ↔ English, client intake and follow-ups, assisting with loan application packages, maintaining client records in Salesforce, and developing/distributing workshop and marketing materials. The role provides hands-on exposure to business counseling, loan processing, and community development, with opportunities to learn about economic development, lending processes, and financial education while working in a mission-driven nonprofit CDFI. Must be fluent in Spanish and able to work on-site in Jackson Heights, NYC; schedule is flexible part-time during the semester and full-time in summer; compensation is paid hourly. Requirements include being a current student or recent graduate with interest in small business finance and community development, plus strong organizational and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Current student or recent graduate in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or related field preferred
  • Interest in economic development, community impact, entrepreneurship, and small business finance
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; detail oriented
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office/Google Suite; Salesforce or CRM experience a plus (training provided)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a mission-driven team
  • Willingness and ability to work in-person in Jackson Heights and occasionally travel to other NYC boroughs
