Job Summary
Maintain inventory and oversee the parts department for Transportation Services to ensure vehicle and equipment needs are met per District guidelines. Requires a High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Degree in automotive technology, plus one year of experience in automotive or fleet maintenance; equivalent combinations acceptable. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and meet driving-safety standards; forklift certification must be obtained within 2 years and maintained. Background screening and initial/random drug tests are required. ASE certification is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational Degree in Automotive Technology or related field
- One year experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or other fleet maintenance
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Must have valid Florida driver's license
- Must maintain driving record meeting District Safe Driver standards
- Must obtain Florida Forklift Certification within 2 years of employment and maintain
Desired Qualifications
- Three years’ experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or other type of fleet maintenance
- Valid and current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
- Florida Forklift Certification or ability to obtain within 2 years
- ASE certification (preferred)
- Background screening compliance (Level II)
