Job Summary
Maintain inventory and operations of the parts department for Transportation Services to ensure vehicle and equipment needs are met, in accordance with District guidelines. Requires knowledge of automotive/fleet maintenance, ability to work with inventory systems, and adherence to safety and background screening requirements. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and be able to obtain forklift certification within two years. Defensive driving, drug testing, and background checks are part of the employment process. Preferred qualifications include three years of relevant maintenance experience and ASE certification. This is a full-time SRP position with school-year schedule (245 days/year, 8 hours/day).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational Degree in Automotive Technology or related field
- One year experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or fleet maintenance
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience providing required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Valid Florida driver’s license for vehicle(s) driven
- Must maintain a driving record meeting District Safe Driver standards
- Plan II or District equivalent
- Must obtain Florida Forklift Certification within 2 years of employment and maintain certification thereafter
