Job Summary
The Bus Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of 25–45-foot buses, ensuring the safety and well-being of 15 to 80 passengers during trips. Operators must comply with Federal Motor Carrier Regulations and may assist with training, scheduling, and dispatching tasks. Key responsibilities include operating vehicles safely, maintaining high professional standards when dealing with customers, conducting basic vehicle maintenance, and adhering to established safety protocols. Successful candidates should possess effective communication skills and be capable of handling physical duties related to the role. This position requires teamwork and commitment to the mission of Liberty University.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B, with passenger endorsement
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to lift 100 lbs. waist-high, 40 lbs. overhead, and carry up to 70 lbs. for distances of up to 150 feet
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
