Job Summary
Bus Operator for MetroLink Tulsa responsible for safely operating assigned buses on scheduled routes with a strong emphasis on customer service and safety. Duties include collecting fares, assisting passengers (including those with disabilities per ADA), performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining radio communications, and accurately reporting accidents or defects. Requires Oklahoma CDL with P and Airbrake endorsements (training provided by MetroLink Tulsa), drug screening, and a DOT medical exam. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and meet state driving-record requirements (no more than two moving violations in 3 years, no DUIs/DWIs). Flexible scheduling including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. This is a safety-sensitive role with adherence to federal/state regulations and ADA accessibility standards.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience: Must be licensed in the State of Oklahoma and be at least 18 years old with no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no DUIs/DWIs
- Licensing: Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and Airbrake endorsements (MetroLink Tulsa provides CDL training)
- Flexibility: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays; up to 10-hour days; split shifts may occur
- Background Check: Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening required
- Physical requirements: able to perform bending, squatting, climbing steps, frequent inspections; able to sit for long periods; operate vehicle with both feet; manual dexterity
- Safety/Compliance: pass DOT physical and additional MetroLink Tulsa requirements, including drug and alcohol screenings
