Job Summary
Operate school buses and other transportation vehicles for Putnam County Schools as outlined in the Job Description Handbook. Perform pre-trip inspections 15 minutes prior to pullout, driving routes between 6:15 am and 7:40 am in the morning and 2:40 pm and 4:00 pm in the afternoon, followed by post-trip inspections. Maintain a Commercial Driver's License with Class B, Passenger, and Airbrake endorsements, hold a West Virginia School Bus Operator's Certificate, and complete required classroom and behind-the-wheel training. Work 200 days annually with a schedule dependent on student transportation needs.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a high school diploma or GED or TASC
- Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
- Passes the required physical examination
- Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
- Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
- Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
- Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training
- Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
- Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator's Certificate
