Job Summary
Operate light and/or heavy-duty buses in a safe and economical manner while adhering to highway and traffic safety rules. Follow daily routing schedules and carry out both written and oral directions from dispatch. Exercise appropriate disciplinary techniques with passengers. Complete the Drivers' Training Course and maintain a Commercial Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Pass a physical examination to certify physical capability and obtain CPR training. This role requires a High School Diploma and is preferred for candidates with prior driving experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of Drivers' Training Course as specified by state and federal standards
- Commercial Driver's License
- verification of an acceptable driving record through Department of Motor Vehicles
- Certified physically capable by a physical examination as prescribed by state and federal standards
- Knowledge of highway and traffic safety rules
- Ability to operate light and / or heavy-duty buses in a safe and economical way
- Ability to understand and carry-out both written and oral directions
- Ability to exercise appropriate disciplinary techniques
- Ability to follow a daily routing schedule
