Job Summary
Assists bus driver in the safe transportation of students. Aids the driver in the internal and external cleanliness of the bus, pre-trip inspections, loading/unloading of students, railroad crossing procedures, and monitoring student behavior en-route. May ride on handicapped student bus; assist with personal needs and ensure seat belts are securely fastened. Requires ability to sit for long periods, handle distractions, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Preferred: knowledge of bus operation, ability to assist in emergencies, knowledge of scheduled routes to assist sub drivers, ability to work with handicapped children, and bilingual skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Eight hours of pre-training at district expense
- First Aid training
- Good interpersonal skills
